Self Rising Flour

 SELF RISING FLOUR

 SELF RISING FLOUR

This morning I brought both of my kids to my mothers for breakfast. She has a very large strawberry patch. I am extremely jealous!!!! Her strawberries are out of control! Mine certainly don’t grow as well as hers! Well that’s a whole other story.

Here in New England we are getting a lot of rain. YUCK! It’s crazy when you are starting the fire place in JUNE. We wanted to pick the strawberries before the rain came so they didn’t rot and get moldy.

While sitting inside chatting and drinking our coffee we decided to make some strawberry shortcake biscuits for dessert! Strawberry shortcake is one of my favorite things! While making the recipe we discovered neither of us had self rising flour. So we had to make our own!

Self Rising Flour

The following amounts are for every one cup of self rising flour called for.

1 cup of all purpose flour

1 1/2 tsp. of baking powder

1/2 tsp. of salt

mixing flour
