Fried Pickles

Fried Pickles

Let me start this post out with NO I am not pregnant!!!

For whatever reason I have recently been on a fried pickled kick (which is not good for my waste line!). One night while at chili’s my husband ordered the fried pickles. My kids love pickles and I guess I don’t mind them either but oh my my my was I pleasantly surprised when I tasted one of those little salty dill nuggets!

I decided to try my hand at making them at home. The first night I made them we were just hanging out watching some football, which is a must do in my house of all boys! We invited friends over for dinner and the game. I couldn’t help myself, I had to whip up a batch of these. Well, needless to say we are getting together again this week and the pickles were requested! They came out awesome and you can’t eat just one!!! They are quick and easy to make! Enjoy!

Fried Pickles

  • 16oz Dill Pickles
  • 8oz beer
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp chili powder (you can add as
  • much as you like depending on how spicy you like it)
  • Frying Oil
  • Ranch (for dipping)

1. Slice all the pickles into about 1/4in wide slices. Place them onto a paper towel and cover them with another paper towel so they dry out. The drier they are the better they will fry.

2. Fill a pan with about 2in of frying oil and let the oil get hot.

3. Mix the beer, eggs, flour, garlic powder, and chili powder together in a bowl.

4. Drop the sliced pickles into the batter and lift one pickle at a time out of the batter with a fork and drop it into the oil. Add as many pickles as you can to the pan but be sure to leave enough of room for them to move around don’t over crowd the pan. Fry the pickles until they turn a light golden color.

5. Remove the pickles from the pan and place the pickles on a baking sheet with a paper towel. Keep them covered and repeat until all the pickles have been fried.

6. Serve with ranch or your favorite dipping sauce. Enjoy.

Let me know if you try these! I am interested in what kind of dressing you like with them. I am still in search of the perfect dipping sauce for these! I can’t wait to hear what you think!
