Restaurant In Mystic Deserves A Strong Standing Ovation: Bravo! Bravo!

Restaurant In Mystic Deserves A Strong Standing Ovation : Bravo Bravo

With the hustle and bustle of downtown Mystic, Connecticut, restaurant Bravo Bravo is warm and inviting. The summer breeze was welcomed as we sat inside thanks to the windows that folded open to create a fantastic open air dining experience. Offering authentic contemporary Italian food and making all of their pastas, sauces, breads, and desserts in house, Bravo Bravo is a perfect addition to your travel itinerary while visiting Mystic, Connecticut.

While our visit was during COVID-19 Bravo Bravo did everything to ensure that we still had a fabulous dining experience. Although, I can imagine that during a regular season with more tables available and tables closer to each other it could get a bit noisy. On the contrary, don’t let that deter you, the darker candle light dining room sets a calming tone, that makes for an attractive date night and the hustle and bustle creates an atmosphere comfortable for a dinner out with friends. Just be sure to make a reservation!

What We Ate

First, we indulged in the whipped goat cheese with wildflower honey, chili oil, and grilled bread. Surely, the combination of sweet and spicy with the tart and earthy goat cheese was full flavored and delicious.

Next, we had the crab cakes. I can never say no to a crab cake, so we order those also. They were delectable. I will say we debated on if they were too spicy or not. My husband of course thought they were just right and I thought they were quite spicy. I enjoyed them non the less but if you really don’t like spicy dishes, maybe try something else.

Then, for dinner I had the lobster ravioli with truffle tarragon cream. There were just enough ravioli’s that I didn’t feel I was slighted and I also didn’t feel guilty that I couldn’t finish my plate, which left me with room for dessert, and at Bravo Bravo you don’t want to miss out on dessert!

Additionally, my husband ordered the New York strip special. It was served with walnuts, blue cheese and a bourbon demi glaze! My husband is a huge bourbon lover so he was thrilled with this option. The steak was cooked to perfection and the smokey flavor from the bourbon in the demi glaze was a flavorful combination with the walnuts and the blue cheese.
