Boston Travel Guide: Where to Eat, Stay, & Explore.

I couldn’t pass up writing a Boston Travel Guide. As a proud New Englander, it’s hard for me not to love the city of Boston! The cobblestone streets, the history, and the food! There is so much to love about Boston! Recently, my husband and spent a few weekends enjoying some great experiences in the city of Boston, so I had to sit down and write a Boston Travel Guide to share with you. In this Boston Travel Guide, you will find how to get around the city, where to stay, what neighborhoods to explore, where to eat, and tours/events to experience.

Hey there! Just a heads-up—some of the links on this site are affiliate links, meaning I may earn a small commission if you make a purchase (at no extra cost to you!). These earnings help fuel my adventures, allowing me to travel more, discover incredible food experiences, and bring you even more exciting content. I only recommend products and services I genuinely love and believe will add value to you. Your support means the world—thank you for being part of this journey!

How to Get Around

  • Walk: The city of Boston is very walkable! So be sure to pack your walking shoes and hit the road. Who knows, you might find some hidden gems along the way!
  • Take the T: The T is Boston’s version of the subway! Here is a great link to the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority’s website on how to use the T! CLICK HERE!
  • Uber: You can always Uber around the city. Uber/Lyft are widely available!
  • Bike rentals/scooters: If walking or taking the T isn’t your thing, you can always rent a bike or scooter!

Top Neighborhoods to Explore

  • Back Bay: Back Bay is a vibrant area, it’s centered around Copley Square. If shopping is your thing, this is a neighborhood you don’t want to miss. With streets like Newbury, you will be able to shop designer boutiques and stop in cafes to enjoy a treat along your shopping route. Luxury Brownstones line the residential area of Back Bay, adding a calm and elegant vibe.
    • Where To Stay: Encore Boston (Click the link for more information)
  • North End: Otherwise known as Little Italy, it’s packed full of Italian delights, festivals, the Freedom Trail, and tourists. If you’re a history buff, you can find the Paul Revere House here too!
    • Where To Stay: The Eliot Hotel (Click the link for more Information. Technically, this hotel is in Back Bay, 2 miles from the North End)

      • This is one of my all-time favorite hotels! It’s a whole vibe! If you love true crime, this building was the old Charlestown prison! Also, do yourself a favor and make a reservation a Scampo. You’re welcome in advance!
  • Charlestown: I’m spilling the tea on Charlestown. Charlestown is full of history, you might have heard of a little event in history called the Boston Tea Party? Charlestown is where it all went down. Experience the maritime heritage and stunning water views in this vibrant Boston neighborhood.
  • Fenway: You either love them or hate them……Boston sports fans! But if you love them, Fenway is home to the Red Sox and Fenway Park,  you will have your fill of baseball and Boston sports fans, that is for sure!

Iconic Boston Eats

  • Lobster roll: Try them at Neptunes, Paulies, or James Hook and Company. There is a big debate about who has the best lobster roll, so please let me know your thoughts! SHARE YOUR THOUGHTS WITH ME!
  • Clam chowder: Grab a bowl at Union Oyster House or Legal Sea Foods.
  • Cannoli: The truth is, you can find delicious cannolis all over the city. There is a very big debate on Mike’s vs. Modern!
